Omozing Answers › Loans and EMIs

Lenders start from FOIR, the share of take-home that can go on all your EMIs together, often capped at around 40%–50%. They subtract the EMIs you already pay, and the loan amount is whatever the remaining EMI room can repay. FOIR explained.
| FOIR limit · existing EMIs | EMI room | 11%, 24 months | 11%, 36 months | 14%, 24 months | 14%, 36 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40% · ₹0 | ₹24,000 | ₹5,14,000 | ₹7,33,000 | ₹4,99,000 | ₹7,02,000 |
| 40% · ₹10,000 | ₹14,000 | ₹3,00,000 | ₹4,27,000 | ₹2,91,000 | ₹4,09,000 |
| 40% · ₹15,000 | ₹9,000 | ₹1,93,000 | ₹2,74,000 | ₹1,87,000 | ₹2,63,000 |
| 50% · ₹0 | ₹30,000 | ₹6,43,000 | ₹9,16,000 | ₹6,24,000 | ₹8,77,000 |
| 50% · ₹10,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹4,29,000 | ₹6,10,000 | ₹4,16,000 | ₹5,85,000 |

Illustrative only, rounded down to the nearest ₹1,000. Rates are examples, not an offer; Omozing’s rates start from 11% a year. The amount any lender offers depends on a full assessment of your credit report, income and existing loans.
Compare this with a ₹40,000 salary. With no other EMIs, 50% more take-home means 50% more borrowing room: ₹9.16 lakh instead of ₹6.10 lakh at 50% FOIR, 11% and 36 months. But a ₹10,000 existing EMI removes the same ₹3.05 lakh in both cases. On ₹40,000 that halves what you can borrow; on ₹60,000 it takes away a third.
Bars drawn to scale; the full width is 60% of ₹60,000. Green is under 30%, amber 30%–50%, red above 50%. Assumes no other EMIs. Rates are examples, not an offer.
₹7 lakh over 24 months would take more than half your salary, which most lenders won’t allow. Over 36 months the same ₹7 lakh drops to about 38%, leaving roughly ₹37,000 a month for everything else. A ₹5 lakh loan over 36 months uses just over a quarter of your pay. That is the range where a loan stays easy to carry through a bad month.
The same ₹30,000 of EMI room repays less at a higher rate. Over 36 months with no other EMIs:
Examples, not an offer; Omozing’s rates start from 11% a year. Your rate depends on your credit assessment. Does a lower score mean a higher rate?
One more thing to budget for: the processing fee, usually deducted from the amount you receive. At Omozing it is 3%–7% plus GST. On ₹5 lakh, a 3% fee is ₹15,000 plus ₹2,700 GST, so you would receive ₹4,82,300. Several app loans eating your EMI room? SmartSwitch can combine them into one EMI.
You are comfortably above Omozing’s ₹40,000 minimum. Salaried, score from 600, loans up to ₹25 lakh over 3–36 months, two documents, rates from 11% a year.
Borrow or save first?: Compare borrowing now, saving first, or saving a few months and borrowing only the gap. Salary Day game: Split your salary, survive a month of surprises and see where the money goes.
It is unlikely on salary alone. Even at 50% FOIR, 11% and 36 months with no other EMIs, the illustrative maximum is about ₹9.16 lakh. A co-applicant’s income could raise it.
Lenders often allow 40%–50% of take-home on all EMIs together, which is ₹24,000–₹30,000. A lower EMI leaves more room for a tight month.
Lenders usually work from take-home, the salary credited to your bank account each month.
At 11% a year it is about ₹16,369 over 36 months, 27.3% of a ₹60,000 take-home, or ₹23,304 over 24 months. Full ₹5 lakh EMI table.
They can. Lenders look at all your obligations, so a large card balance carried from month to month can reduce your EMI room.
