Existing EMIs are shown as 0%, 10% and 20% of take-home: none, ₹10,000 and ₹20,000 a month. The EMI room is the FOIR limit minus those EMIs, and the loan is what that room repays.
| FOIR limit · existing EMIs | EMI room | 11%, 24 months | 11%, 36 months | 14%, 24 months | 14%, 36 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40% · none | ₹40,000 | ₹8,58,000 | ₹12,21,000 | ₹8,33,000 | ₹11,70,000 |
| 40% · ₹10,000 (10%) | ₹30,000 | ₹6,43,000 | ₹9,16,000 | ₹6,24,000 | ₹8,77,000 |
| 40% · ₹20,000 (20%) | ₹20,000 | ₹4,29,000 | ₹6,10,000 | ₹4,16,000 | ₹5,85,000 |
| 50% · none | ₹50,000 | ₹10,72,000 | ₹15,27,000 | ₹10,41,000 | ₹14,62,000 |

| 50% · ₹20,000 (20%) | ₹30,000 | ₹6,43,000 | ₹9,16,000 | ₹6,24,000 | ₹8,77,000 |
Illustrative assumptions: FOIR of 40% or 50% of take-home; example rates of 11% and 14% a year (not an offer; Omozing’s rates start from 11% a year); tenures of 24 and 36 months. Rounded down to the nearest ₹1,000. Every figure is within Omozing’s ₹25 lakh maximum. Actual amounts depend on a full credit assessment.

Crossing ₹1 lakh a month puts you in the group lenders compete for. Your borrowing room is large enough that most needs, such as a family wedding or a planned medical procedure, fit comfortably. What changes the outcome now is the price. Take a ₹10 lakh loan over 36 months:
Bars drawn to scale. Interest only; excludes the processing fee. Rates are examples, not an offer; Omozing’s rates start from 11% a year.
The gap between 11% and 14% alone is ₹51,801. Between 11% and 22% it is ₹1,96,262, nearly two months of take-home. The EMI difference looks small, about ₹1,400 a month at 14%, which is exactly why people overlook it. On an illustrative ₹8 lakh wedding loan over 36 months, 11% costs ₹1,42,875 in interest and 14% costs ₹1,84,316. How your score links to your rate.
A high salary helps, but it is one input among several. Lenders typically weigh:
One more cost to plan for: the processing fee. At Omozing it is 3%–7% plus GST. On ₹10 lakh, a 3% fee is ₹30,000 plus ₹5,400 GST, so ₹9,64,600 would reach your account. Compare lenders on the APR in the Key Fact Statement, which includes fees. Our page on personal loans for high-income professionals sets out how we assess this band.
Loans up to ₹25 lakh, 3–36 months, two documents, fully digital, with a credit officer reading your full report. Rates start from 11% a year; the best rates typically go to high, stable incomes with strong credit histories.
Possibly, with no other EMIs and a lender allowing 50% FOIR over 36 months: the illustrative maximum is about ₹15.27 lakh at 11%. At 14% it is about ₹14.62 lakh.
No one can promise a rate before assessment. Omozing’s rates start from 11% a year, and the best rates typically go to high, stable incomes with strong credit histories.
Yes. On ₹10 lakh over 36 months, each percentage point is worth roughly ₹17,000 in interest, so a clean report and low existing EMIs are worth presenting clearly.
It can. Lenders prefer a steady salary history, so a very recent move may mean more questions. Does changing jobs affect my score?
At 11% a year it is about ₹32,739 over 36 months, roughly a third of a ₹1 lakh take-home.
