Omozing Personal Loan · For travel in India and abroad

Travel loan: book the trip, repay in a few planned EMIs

Fares are cheapest when you book early, visas need proof of funds, and family visits abroad do not wait for appraisal season. An Omozing personal loan lets you pay upfront and spread the cost over a short, fixed schedule.

In short: A travel loan is an unsecured personal loan used for flights, hotels, visas, tour packages or travel to family. Omozing, a brand of RBI-registered NBFC Aparampaar Finance, lends salaried people up to ₹25 lakh, at rates starting from 11% a year, for 3 to 36 months, with a credit score from 600 and a take-home salary of ₹40,000 or more. For a holiday, keep the tenure short, ideally 12 months or less.

Who a travel loan suits

A travel loan is a personal loan whose purpose is a journey. The money goes into your own bank account and you book flights, stays and packages directly, which often costs less than paying through a travel agent’s finance scheme. It works best when the trip has a clear budget and you can repay within months, not years.

Sensible uses

  • Visiting parents or children who live abroad
  • A honeymoon or milestone trip booked early to lock in fares
  • Pilgrimages and family trips where the whole group’s costs land at once
  • Urgent travel to a family member who is unwell
  • Study-abroad or job-relocation travel costs

Think twice if…

  • you would still be paying EMIs long after the next trip
  • the trip is a last-minute impulse booking
  • your existing EMIs already take a big share of your salary
  • you are borrowing to cover spending money and shopping abroad

A common question is how to get a loan to travel abroad. The answer is the same as for any personal loan: a steady salary, a manageable debt load and a credit history a lender can read. Omozing considers applications from a score of 600; see how our credit review for scores from 600 works.

What trips cost

Travel prices move with season, route and how early you book, so treat any number as a starting point. The ranges below are illustrative estimates for planning, not quotes. Check current fares and visa fees on airline and official embassy or visa-centre sites before you decide how much to borrow.

Trip (illustrative)WhoRough total budget
Domestic holiday, 5 nights (Goa, Kerala, hills)Family of 4₹80,000 – ₹1.5 lakh
Short-haul abroad, 6 nights (South-east Asia, Gulf)Couple₹1.5 lakh – ₹2.5 lakh
Europe, 10 daysCouple₹4 lakh – ₹6 lakh
Visiting family in the US, Canada or Australia, 3 weeksTwo parents₹3 lakh – ₹5 lakh, mostly airfare

Illustrative ranges as of October 2026, assuming mid-range stays and economy flights booked a few months ahead. Actual costs vary widely.

Tickets and hotels are only part of the bill. Budget separately for:

  • Visa and appointment fees, which are paid upfront and usually non-refundable
  • Travel insurance, which some visas require and every international trip needs
  • Forex costs: markups on cards and currency exchange add a few per cent to everything you spend abroad
  • Tax collected at source (TCS) on overseas tour packages and some foreign remittances, which you can adjust against your income tax but which ties up cash until then; check current rules on incometax.gov.in
  • Spending money: local transport, food, entry tickets, gifts

How much to borrow

A trip is a short pleasure; the EMI should be short too. A useful rule: do not repay a holiday for longer than you would wait to take the next one. For most leisure trips that means 6 to 12 months.

Price the trip, including visas, insurance and forex
Subtract savings you can use without touching your emergency fund
Pay spending money from salary, not the loan
Borrow the remaining fixed costs
Pick the shortest tenure you can comfortably afford

Lenders look at your FOIR, the share of take-home pay already committed to EMIs and card dues. A short tenure makes the EMI larger, so check it fits:

EMI examples

These EMIs use 11% a year, the rate our loans start from. Your actual rate depends on your profile and is in the Key Fact Statement before you sign.

Monthly EMI at 11% a year, reducing balance, excluding processing fee (3%–7% plus GST).

The rate you borrow at matters more than most travellers think. Here is what a ₹2 lakh trip costs in interest over 12 months under three illustrative rates, including a revolving credit card balance:

Interest on ₹2 lakh repaid over 12 months

Personal loan at 11%₹12,116 (EMI ₹17,676) Personal loan at 16%₹17,754 (EMI ₹18,146) Card balance at 42%EMI ₹20,697₹48,361

Illustrative rates, reducing balance, excluding fees. 42% a year is an assumed revolving card rate for comparison; check your card’s actual terms. Bars are proportional to interest.

A worked example

An illustrative profile, not a real customer. Ananya, 34, is an HR manager in Hyderabad with a take-home of ₹65,000 and a ₹5,000 EMI on a phone. She is taking her mother to Europe for 10 days. The trip is priced at ₹4.5 lakh including visas, insurance and a forex card. She has ₹2 lakh saved for it.

  • Gap: ₹2.5 lakh
  • Over 12 months at an illustrative 11%: EMI about ₹22,095, total FOIR about 42%
  • Over 18 months: EMI about ₹15,130, total FOIR about 31%; interest about ₹22,333 instead of ₹15,145
  • She picks 18 months: the extra ₹7,000 of interest buys a budget that still has room for rent and savings
  • Spending money abroad comes from her salary, not the loan

Eligibility and documents

  • Salaried, with a monthly take-home of ₹40,000 or more
  • Credit score of 600 or more on any bureau (TransUnion CIBIL, Experian, Equifax or CRIF High Mark)
  • Salary credited to a bank account
  • Room in your budget for a new EMI after existing ones
  • Optional co-applicant: spouse, family member or friend

Two documents start the process: your last 6 months’ salary-account bank statement and your latest salary slip. KYC checks follow. You do not need to show tickets or an itinerary for a personal loan.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Choosing 36 months for a 7-day holiday
  • Borrowing spending money and shopping budget along with the fixed costs
  • Paying non-refundable fares before the loan is approved
  • Forgetting visa, insurance, forex markup and TCS in the budget
  • Stacking a travel loan on top of several app loans; consolidate first with SmartSwitch
  • Applying to many lenders at once, which adds hard enquiries to your report
  • Signing without reading the Key Fact Statement

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a personal loan to travel abroad?

Yes. A personal loan from Omozing can be used for international travel, including flights, hotels, visas and tour packages. You need to be salaried with a take-home of ₹40,000 or more and a credit score from 600.

Is a travel loan different from a personal loan?

No. A travel loan is an unsecured personal loan used for a trip. Rates start from 11% a year, tenure is 3 to 36 months and the documents are the same.

What tenure should I choose for a holiday?

As short as your budget allows, ideally 12 months or less, so you are not still paying for one trip when you plan the next. Use the EMI table above to check what fits.

Do I need to show tickets or an itinerary?

No. A personal loan does not require travel bookings as proof. The money is paid into your bank account and you book directly.

Can I take a loan to fly my parents abroad to visit me or my sibling?

Yes. The loan is in your name and you repay it, but you can use it for family members’ travel. A working family member can join as a co-applicant.

Can I get a travel loan with a low CIBIL score?

Omozing considers applications from a credit score of 600, and a credit officer reviews your full report and income. A lower score can mean a higher rate, which you will see in the Key Fact Statement before you sign.

Can I use the loan for a visa’s proof of funds?

Visa rules on financial evidence differ by country and are set by the embassy. Check the official requirements for your destination before relying on borrowed money in your account.

Are there charges besides interest?

A processing fee of 3%–7% plus GST applies. All charges, the rate and the APR are listed in the Key Fact Statement before you sign.
