A quick fix changes what is on your report; how much your score moves depends on everything else in it. That is why no honest lender or agent quotes a fixed number of points.
You get one free full report from each bureau every calendar year, and checking your own report never lowers your score. Look for overdue accounts, loans you don’t recognise, and closed loans still shown as open. How to read your report.
Disputes must be resolved within 30 days, and correcting errors is free. How to raise a dispute.
An account that is overdue now does the most ongoing damage. Pay it, and get a no-dues certificate if you close it.
The balance on your statement is usually what gets reported. Paying down before that date, to under about 30% of the limit, lowers your reported utilisation. Why 30% matters.
Every application adds a hard enquiry. Hold off until your report looks the way you want it to.
| If your report shows | The move | Realistic pace |
|---|---|---|
| An error or unknown loan | Dispute with proof | Resolved within 30 days, then updated |
| An account overdue now | Pay it up to date | Shows after the lender’s next reporting dates |
| High card use | Pay down before statement date | Can show in a cycle or two |
| Several small app loans | Close or consolidate them | Closures show once lenders report; history stays |
| A settled account | Pay the shortfall, get it marked closed | Status updates after reporting; past delays remain |
| Past missed EMIs | Pay every EMI on time from now | Months to years; no shortcut |
If several app loans are the problem, SmartSwitch can replace them with one Omozing loan and one EMI, which also makes on-time payment easier to keep up.
Our Credit Score Booster reviews your full report and sets out the steps that fit your situation. We don’t promise a specific score; we show you what is fixable and what takes time.

Sometimes a little, if the problem is fixable, such as an error, an overdue amount or high card use. If the problem is past late payments or a settlement, it takes much longer, and no one can promise a result.
Not immediately. The change shows after the lender reports it, typically about one to two weeks under the four-times-a-month reporting rules from July 2026.
Usually not. An old card with a clean record adds to your history and your total limit, which helps keep utilisation low.
They can’t do anything you can’t do yourself for free. Only errors can be corrected, and accurate negative entries can’t be removed for a fee.
Repaying on time adds positive history, but a new loan also adds an enquiry and a new account. Don’t borrow only to build a score; pay what you already have on time.
