Bars show total interest only. They exclude the processing fee, which is charged once.
Most lenders charge a one-time processing fee, often deducted from the amount you receive. At Omozing it is 3%–7% plus GST. On ₹3 lakh, a 3% fee is ₹9,000, plus ₹1,620 GST, so you would receive about ₹2,89,380. The APR in your Key Fact Statement combines interest and fees into one yearly figure, so use that to compare lenders, not the headline rate.
On a ₹40,000 take-home with no other EMIs, a ₹14,000 EMI uses about 35% of your income, which is comfortable for most lenders. If you already pay ₹8,000 a month on other loans, the same loan takes you to about 55%, and a lender may suggest a longer tenure or a smaller amount. How FOIR works.
Salaried with a take-home of ₹40,000 or more and a score from 600? Rates start from 11% a year, with 3–36 month tenures and two documents.
Borrow or save first?: Compare borrowing now, saving first, or saving a few months and borrowing only the gap.
At 11% a year it is about ₹9,822 a month for 36 months; at 14% about ₹10,253; at 18% about ₹10,846.
At 11% a year it is about ₹13,982 a month; at 14% about ₹14,404.
It depends on your other EMIs and the tenure. At Omozing the minimum take-home is ₹40,000 a month. On that salary with no other EMIs, a ₹3 lakh loan over 24 months is usually affordable.
If you can afford the higher EMI, yes: you pay much less interest. At 11%, 24 months costs about ₹18,000 less in interest than 36 months on ₹3 lakh.
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r the monthly interest rate (yearly rate ÷ 12) and n the number of months.
