Omozing Answers › Co-applicants

Their take-home counts like yours. The main questions are their existing EMIs and how many years they have before retirement.
A regular pension credited to a bank account is income a lender can verify. Some lenders count all of it, some only part.
Interest from savings or rent may count at some lenders if it is regular and visible in a bank account; otherwise income is treated as nil.
Lenders often set an upper age for the end of the tenure. A parent of 63 on a 3-year loan is 66 at the last EMI.
If salary will switch to pension midway, a lender may size the EMI on the lower pension figure or suggest a shorter tenure.
Parents often have a long, clean record, or none at all. A report with no recent credit may show no score. When a co-applicant helps a low score.
Irfan takes home ₹48,000 a month and pays an ₹8,000 EMI on a two-wheeler. His father, 63, retired from a state-run company and receives a pension of ₹30,000 a month into his savings account; he has no loans. This is an illustrative profile, not a real customer. For comparison we also show the same family a few years earlier, when his father was still working and took home ₹65,000. We assume a lender that caps all EMIs at 50% of verified income.
Illustrative: 50% of combined income minus the ₹8,000 EMI. Examples, not an offer; Omozing’s rates start from 11% a year.
The pension nearly doubles what Irfan could borrow alone. But age shortens the menu. If a lender wants the loan to end before his father turns, say, 65, the tenure drops to 24 months, and the same ₹31,000 of EMI room supports about ₹6.65 lakh instead of ₹9.47 lakh:
| Version | EMI room | 11%, 24 months | 11%, 36 months | 14%, 36 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Irfan alone | ₹16,000 | ₹3,43,000 | ₹4,88,000 | ₹4,68,000 |
| With pension ₹30,000 | ₹31,000 | ₹6,65,000 | ₹9,46,000 | ₹9,07,000 |
| With working father ₹65,000 | ₹48,500 | ₹10,40,000 | ₹14,81,000 | ₹14,19,000 |
Rounded down to the nearest ₹1,000. The 65 age figure is a made-up example of a lender rule, not any particular lender’s limit.
Lenders look at a parent co-applicant the way they look at anyone else on the loan: verified income, existing EMIs and credit history. Two things are specific to parents. Income may be about to change, at retirement, and the loan has to finish within whatever age limit the lender sets. Pension is usually viewed as stable but fixed, so it supports a modest EMI well and a large one less well. A parent co-applicant also usually shares responsibility for the loan, and it generally appears on their credit report.
At Omozing: co-applicants are welcome: spouse, family members, and even friends, and a credit officer reads the full credit report of both. Omozing’s application page lists an applicant age of 21–60 years. How a co-applicant’s age and pension are treated is confirmed during your application; to ask first, email info@omozing.com or call +91 88848 00789.
Salaried, take-home ₹40,000 or more, credit score from 600. Loans up to ₹25 lakh over 3 to 36 months, with rates that start from 11% a year.
At some lenders, yes, but with no income of her own she would add little to the amount you can borrow. Co-applicants without income.
Most lenders set one, often tied to the parent’s age when the loan ends. Limits vary, so ask the lender before you apply.
Often, if it is regular and credited to a bank account. How much of it a lender counts is a lender-by-lender decision.
Usually yes. A co-applicant’s report generally shows the joint loan, so every EMI, on time or late, is recorded for them too.
Some lenders allow more than one co-applicant. Each person’s income, EMIs and credit report are then assessed.
