Omozing Answers › Loan apps and consolidation

A loan app is often just the shop window. The lender behind it is the one that reports to the bureaus, so ask “who lent me this, and when?”
| Possible reason | How to check | Warning sign? |
|---|---|---|
| Too new to show | Compare the loan date with the reporting dates (9th, 16th, 23rd and last day of the month), then allow one to two weeks. | No |
| Listed under the lender’s name | Find the bank or NBFC named in your Key Fact Statement or loan agreement and search your report for that name. | No |
| Already repaid | Look in the closed accounts too. | No |
| You checked only one bureau | Download your free report from a second bureau. | Usually no |
| Weeks old, lender named, still missing everywhere | Ask the lender in writing whether and where it reports the loan. | Maybe: ask |
| No regulated lender named, or no KFS at all | Check the app against the lender’s registration. See RBI-registered loan apps. | Yes |
Reporting dates apply from 1 July 2026, when lenders moved to reporting four times a month.
Varun is an illustrative profile, not a real customer. He has three app loans totalling ₹33,000: Loan A for ₹15,000 taken on 2 October, Loan C for ₹8,000 on 12 October, and Loan B for ₹10,000 on 20 October. On 25 October he downloads his free credit report, searches for the three app names and finds nothing. Here is what was really going on.

Lenders see what the bureaus report, and many also read your bank statement, where app-loan credits and repayments usually show up anyway. A missing loan rarely hides debt from a careful lender. It does mean your on-time payments on that loan are not building your credit history, so a reported loan that you repay on time is generally better for you than an unreported one.
A credit officer reads your full credit report, not just the score, and we ask for your last 6 months’ salary-account bank statement and your latest salary slip, with PAN and Aadhaar for KYC. If several app loans are stretching your salary, SmartSwitch consolidates several short-term loan-app loans into one Omozing loan with one EMI, so you deal with one lender and one due date.
Run a quick safety check on the app, then plan how to close your app loans one by one.
From 1 July 2026 lenders report four times a month, on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and last day, and updates typically appear one to two weeks after that, so allow up to about three weeks.
It is often the bank or NBFC behind the app. Match it against the lender named in your Key Fact Statement; if it matches nothing you signed, see a loan I never took is on my report.
Neither is a reason to relax. An unreported loan does not build your credit history, and if no regulated lender is named at all, the app itself may be unregistered.
Yes. If a regulated lender reports it later, the full payment history can appear, including late payments.
