Omozing Answers › Loan apps and consolidation

Can I combine several loan-app loans into one personal loan?

Yes, if a lender approves you for a loan big enough to clear them all. You take one personal loan, the money lands in your own bank account, you repay each app in full, collect a closure letter (NOC) from each, and from then on you pay one EMI on one date. The lender will check your credit report, your salary-account statement and whether one EMI fits your take-home. It works best when you stop borrowing from apps the day the old loans close.

What changes the answer

Take-home salary

The new EMI must fit beside rent and any other EMIs. Lenders check this with FOIR. FOIR explained.

Total owed to the apps

Add up the closure amount on every app, including fees due, not just the original loan.

Overdue app loans

Late marks on your report make approval harder; clear or regularise the oldest overdue first if you can.

Recent applications

A burst of app applications shows as many hard enquiries. Why that drops your score.

Statement pattern

Money arriving from one app and going straight to another is easy to spot on a bank statement.

Proof you will close them

Lenders want the apps closed, not left running beside the new loan. NOCs are the proof.

An example: Fatima’s three due dates

Fatima is an illustrative profile, not a real customer. She takes home ₹45,000 and has three 30-day app loans: ₹18,000 due on the 5th, ₹22,000 on the 14th and ₹30,000 on the 24th. Together that is ₹70,000 falling due within one month, about 156% of her salary, which is why she keeps paying extension fees.

Before and after: what falls due in a month

Before: three apps, ₹70,000 due this month 5th₹18,000 14th₹22,000 24th₹30,000 After: one loan, one EMI on one date 5th≈ ₹7,233 Day 1Day 30

Illustrative. The EMI applies our illustrative SmartSwitch example (about ₹7,750 a month for 12 months per ₹75,000) to ₹70,000; it is not a SmartSwitch price or rate. Your actual EMI, fee and APR are in the Key Fact Statement.

₹70,000Due to three apps within one month (156% of take-home)
≈ ₹7,233One monthly EMI for 12 months, illustrative (about 16% of take-home)
3 → 1Lenders, due dates and collection channels

The numbers explain why consolidation helps cash flow: an app loan has to be repaid in one go, so a ₹30,000 loan needs ₹30,000 on one day. Spread over 12 EMIs, the same debt fits inside a normal month. For what that does to the total cost, see how much consolidating could save.

How it works, step by step

  1. List every app loan

Note the closure amount, due date and whether it is overdue. Check each app’s KFS for any early-closure terms.

  2. Apply to one lender

Not five. Each application can add a hard enquiry.

  3. Receive the money in your own account

Under RBI digital lending rules, disbursal goes directly between the lender’s and your bank account.

  4. Close each app in full and collect the NOC

Pay through the app’s official repayment channel and save the receipt and closure letter.

  5. Share the NOCs and check your report

Send the closure letters to your new lender, then check your credit report shows each app loan as closed.

When it gets harder, and what helps

How lenders look at it

A lender asks three questions. Can one EMI be paid from this salary every month? Will the money actually close the app loans? And has the borrower’s recent behaviour, such as late payments, frequent extensions or new app loans, been steady enough to trust a longer loan? A score is part of the picture, but the full report and the bank statement carry most of it.

At Omozing

SmartSwitch consolidates several short-term loan-app loans into one Omozing loan with one EMI, so you deal with one lender and one due date. The money goes to your own bank account; you close each app loan and share the NOCs. Omozing offers unsecured personal loans for salaried people, and a credit officer reads your full credit report, not just the score. The exact interest rate, fees and APR are shown in the Key Fact Statement before you sign.

What most people get wrong: they think consolidation is finished when the new loan is disbursed. It is finished when every app shows as closed on your credit report and the apps are off your phone. Until then you have more debt, not less.

Frequently asked questions

Does the lender pay the apps directly?

With SmartSwitch the money goes to your own bank account and you close each app loan yourself, then share the NOCs. Other lenders may work differently, so ask before you apply.

Can I include a credit card bill as well?

Some consolidation loans can cover card dues too; it depends on the lender and on whether one EMI still fits your salary.

Will the apps charge me for closing early?

Check each app’s Key Fact Statement and loan agreement. Many short-term loans can be closed by paying the full outstanding.

What if one app refuses to issue an NOC?

Keep your payment proof, raise a complaint with the lender behind the app, and if there is no reply within 30 days, escalate to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in where the lender is covered by the scheme.
