Omozing Answers › Rejections and reapplying

An enquiry is recorded when a lender pulls your report because you applied. Checking your own score is a soft enquiry and never counts. How much a run of hard enquiries matters depends on:
Seven applications over two years is normal life. Seven in three weeks reads as urgent need, or as being turned down repeatedly.
Enquiries followed by several new small loans worry a lender more than enquiries that went nowhere.
A spread of app loans, cards and pay-later in one month suggests stretched cash flow.
A long, clean history absorbs a cluster better than a thin file with one or two accounts.
On-time payments since the cluster are the strongest counter-signal you can add.
An enquiry you never made is an error, and possibly misuse of your identity. It can be disputed free.
Mehul is an illustrative profile, not a real customer. He needed ₹2 lakh for a family expense and, after a first app turned him down, kept trying. On day 20 a lender declined him, citing recent enquiries. Here is what his credit report showed:
Drawn to a day scale. An illustrative profile; real reports list each enquiry with the lender’s name, date, purpose and amount.
Sorting the list taught him three things. Six of the seven were his own applications. Two of the apps had offered amounts too small to help, which he never took, so no new loans were opened. And the day-9 enquiry came from a lender he had never heard of.
| Enquiries on Mehul’s report | Count | What he does |
|---|---|---|
| Loan apps he applied to | 3 | Nothing to fix; they age with time |
| Credit card and bank personal loan | 2 | Nothing to fix; no more card applications for now |
| Lender that declined him on day 20 | 1 | Asks the lender for the main reason in writing |
| Lender he doesn’t recognise | 1 | Disputes it with the bureau and checks for misuse of his PAN |
| Total | 7 |
Disputes must be resolved within 30 days. More on that in removing an enquiry you didn’t make.
It gets harder when:
What helps:
Lenders read the enquiry section alongside everything else. A cluster raises questions: is this person short of money right now, have other lenders already said no, and are new loans about to appear that we can’t see yet? Each lender decides for itself how recent and how many is too many, and no one can tell you a fixed number of points an enquiry costs. What reliably reassures a lender is time without new applications and a run of on-time payments. Our page on how long an enquiry’s effect lasts shows the shape of that fade.
A credit officer reads your full credit report, not just the score. We consider salaried applicants with a take-home salary of ₹40,000 or more a month and a credit score from 600. Omozing never asks for any fee before approval.
Our Credit Score Booster programme helps you improve your credit habits and report; it does not promise any particular score. When you are ready for one careful application, check your offer. More in our rejections and reapplying questions.
There is no single number; each lender decides. Several applications within a few weeks is the pattern most likely to cause concern.
Yes, if the app or its lending partner pulled your report for an application, it is a hard enquiry like any other.
Only if they are errors, such as an enquiry you never authorised. Accurate enquiries stay on the report and lose weight as they age.
It adds a soft enquiry, which lenders don’t treat as an application and which doesn’t affect your score.
There is no fixed rule. Stop applying, let the cluster age with on-time payments, and reapply once. See how soon to reapply.
